With such a focus on STEM for the future of the students, the elementary training will be a bit different in regards to math. Even before learning addition, and subtraction – the student will learn order of mathematical operations. They will be introduced to this early, and with that in mind, they will then learn how to perform the basic functions. Throughout Elementary education, the student should be able to do the basic functions of math including multiplication, and division. Also early on, they will learn decimals considering that decimals are well entwined in the modern society.
Since I am not an expert in education, this will be the primary change I would do if I had my own country. Again, with a child’s mind soaking up knowledge like a sponge, the earlier they can be introduced to the core math skills, the better.
